She is excited for what God has done for our school and all that is to come. She truly believes that we need to hear from many voices and gain several perspectives in order to thrive, but to always remain focused to His word.
Vice President
Deb grew up in North Dakota on a dairy farm and later moved to Minnesota where she joined the military and received her BS in Business. She retired from the Army October 2021 with over 36 years of service attaining the rank of Command Sergeant Major. Deb and her husband (Emil, who passed away in 2020) raised five children on a farm SW of Indianola and have been blessed with 12 grandchildren. Deb raises beef cattle, two dogs, an assortment of cats and works part time as a Veteran Service Officer for Warren County. She has been involved in Christian Education since 1998 starting with Warren County Christian school then Victory Christian Academy. Deb & Emil’s two youngest children were one of the first students to attend and stayed for nine years until they aged out. She was a member of the school board multiple times and the Blaze Parent Fellowship. Deb believes strongly and supports Christ based Education where seeds are planted. It is one of the top priorities a family can make. She was part of the organizational committee and was blessed to witness Gods work with Strong Roots inception and how He has provided His building, teachers and administrator. Deb enjoys spending time with her family, farming, baking, gardening, lifting weights, researching family history and volunteering within the community. As your school board member Deb believes she is the voice for parents and teachers and to make decisions that are based on facts that are biblically sound and best for the school with GOD as top priority.
Zach Brummer
Treasurer
Zach was raised on a farm outside of Indianola, Iowa. He graduated from Simpson College in 2010 with his bachelor’s degree in business management. He then spent over 10 years as a Grain Merchandiser and Senior Market Manager with the Scoular Company out of Sarasota, Florida. In 2019 he and his wife Nicola relocated back to Indianola to raise their family. He currently holds the position of Farmer Education Program Manager at the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation. In addition to serving on the board of Strong Roots Christian School, Zach volunteers as the leader of the White Oak Climber Clover Kids Club in Indianola. “Ensuring that families in our community have access to quality faith-based education and that the institutions providing it have invested and qualified stakeholders contributing to their success is something I’m very passionate about, and one of the many reasons I am honored to server on the board.
Brooke Moore
Secretary
Brooke Moore is an Indianola native. After high school, she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and has had over 10 years of experience working at Methodist West Hospital. Brooke is actively involved in her church, through regular attendance and serving weekly in high school ministry as a youth group leader. In the community, she co-leads a small Women's Outreach Ministry as well as hosting Life Groups and Bible studies in her home. Brooke and her husband have two children who attend SRCS, so Christian Education is a personal desire for their family. They strive to keep Christ at the center of their family's daily life, and are confident that SRCS will provide a great foundation of truth, based on who Jesus is and will help develop deep roots in a biblically led life.
Angela West
Angela grew up in Eastern Iowa where she received her formal training in cosmetology and interior design. Soon after marrying her husband, they started moving around the country to states that bordered the Great Lakes region. They have four children ranging from 27 to 11 years of age. All four of them have been blessed to be enrolled in Christian schools at some point in their educational experience. While living in Michigan, Angela found her calling of serving and heading the outreach committee at her church. After moving back to Iowa in 2016, she used her passion to brighten the elderly shut-ins by delivering "Meals on Wheels" and other activities. She has always been actively involved in their schools from PTA to "lunch lady". When she isn't volunteering, you will find her creating her many craft ideas and working in the garden. She enjoys seeing God's beauty in nature. Some of her annual vacations are to return to the Great Lakes to hike and view waterfalls. "In Isaiah 6:8, "The Lord asked, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!" This is one of the verses that the lyrics of my favorite song is based on, "Here I am Lord". This is why I serve. I go where he calls me to go. Sometimes I don't understand why, but I go and trust He has me."-Angela
